Charvet's Garden Center

"A Family Tradition"

Marilyn and Carol Charvet,  founded Charvet's Garden Center in 1968.  For almost 50 years, the Charvet's hard work  and love of gardening  has made the Garden Center  an area treasure.  Now retired,  Marilyn and Carol have turned over the reigns of  the Garden Center to their daughter, Michelle.   As did her parents before her, Michelle offers high quality plants, flowers, trees and supplies, all at great prices, and all delivered with a large helping of friendly, hometown service.  Shopping at Charvet's continues to be a joy.  Not surprisingly, our repeat customers are our largest business.

In addition to Michelle's around the clock responsibility of managing  the Garden Center, she has earned licenses and certifications in arboriculture, horticulture, landscape contracting, and commercial pesticides.  Michelle is certified by the prestigious International Society of Arborists and is a Member of The Louisiana Arborist Association.  If you need a Certified Arborist or Licensed Horticulturist, contact Michelle Charvet at the Garden Center.

"Get It Growing" Project

Dan Gill is seen here with Charvet's Garden Center's Manager, Michelle Charvet.  Dan is an Associate Professor of Horticulture with the LSU AgCenter.  He is the spokesperson for the "Get It Growing" project, a statewide effort to promote home horticulture. You may know Dan from Channel 4's Morning News, his  column for The Times-Picayune, or his Saturday Garden Show on WWL 870-AM.

We are pleased that Dan stops by every year to answer questions. Ask us when Dan will be with us again and mark it on your calendar.  Get here early though.  Dan is the closest thing to a "rock star" in our business.  Everyone has a question or two.
